The New Zealand Web Fest #NZWF2015 is excited to announce the latest addition to its programme, NZ’s popular YouTuber, Jamie Curry.
19-year-old Internet sensation Curry is the writer, director, editor, and star of Jamie’s World https://www.youtube.com/user/theJamiesWorld . Her punchy YouTube videos and Facebook skits are watched by over 10 million fans around the globe.
One of the world’s most influential and recognizable teenagers, her lively sense of humour resonates across cultural divides. Jamie was a New Zealander of the Year finalist in 2013 and nominated for ‘Favourite Internet Sensation’ at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards earlier this year.
Jamie has worked with Coca-Cola and Netflix, and most recently on a digital collaboration with Kiwibank to create the six-part KB Series.
At #NZWF2015 Jamie will be the focus of A YouTube Channel Story, an In Conversation session with event MC Caito Potatoe (Caitlin Davidson). No retakes, no edits, no censor – just loud and lively discussion on the highs and lows, ups and downs, in and outs of being world famous from New Zealand. Jamie will also take questions from the audience.
18-year-old Caito Potatoe is impossible to ignore. A recent host of X Factor RAW, her online personality is unique, intense and “out-there”. Her channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/CAiTOP0TAT0E ) focuses on her ranting about things that happen in her life and other silly things that she likes to talk about.
A YouTube Channel Story: in Conversation with Jamie Curry is presented with support from Johnson & Laird.
Jamie Curry and Caito Potatoe join previously announced speakers, webseries creators Roseanne Liang (Flat 3, Friday Night Bites), Peter Haynes (JF2: Primal Fury, AFK) and Roberto Nascimento (The Adventures of Suzy Boon).
